Has anyone found something that works for extremely thinning hair in women?

I am 41 and have been steadly losing hair all over my head not just in patches, for the last 5 years. HELP!!!Has anyone found something that works for extremely thinning hair in women?
I suggest trying ProSante Hair Care System. Clinical studies have shown that with consistent use of the ProSante system of products, a 65% reduction in hair loss during combing in 90 days, while 46% of test subjects noted an increase in the thickness of their hair in 30 days.

I've been using these products for some time now and my beautician noticed the difference in my hair without realizing I had started using these products.

Hope this is useful and for the website, feel free to contact me.

it's spelled tattoo's and they are super sexy if done tastefully and nice clothes is sexy not slutty ones

hope that helpsIs there a hotter look for women than a mini-skirt on a thin girl with long hair?
Yes. I like form fitting clothes on a voluptuous, thick or borderline chubby woman who is proud of her curves and confident. I also dislike tattoes but I can tolerate them if it's not overboard.
    why do you not like ';tatoes';

    i think they are sexy

and yea them little spandex work out pants are slammin
IT all depends on what the chick looks like. Mini skirts are usually pretty hot though ( notice i said USUALLY)
I'm a sucker for a girl showing some belly.

Bikinis are better. The girl has to be thin though, and toned. Is there a hotter look for women than a mini-skirt on a thin girl with long hair?
uhmm depends on how they look another look on a thing girl would probably be a girl with not too baggy but baggy pants if ur into that style

    or really tight jeans
not if the girl is ugly lol

Woman's opinion - For guys with thinning hair...?

Should the guy go ahead and shave his head or is men's hair not that important?Woman's opinion - For guys with thinning hair...?
Shaving is better and heaps sexy!!!!!Woman's opinion - For guys with thinning hair...?
it depends. if it's not so serious, then no. but if it's really obvious, then yes.
depends how thinning, if its really bad hardly any left then yea just shave it but make sure you shave it really close. But if its just thinning a bit then leave it and brush it forward in a french crop style. My friends hair was thinning a but and he shaved it and it just looked awful! It just depends how thin it is.

Picture a woman with very fine, long, straight, and thin hair. Will you suggest a haircut or hairstyle for me?

In the past, I have been told that I have a ';long'; shaped face and a high forehead. I have to keep my bangs because they keep my face from looking too long and narrow.

The length is only somewhat negotiable. I live with men, work with men, and participate in a male-dominated hobby. Many stylists have tried to encourage (or flat out pressure) me in to a chin-length angled bob. I have resisted because I don't want to LOOK like a guy, too.

Because I am on the phone all day long at work, I have spent my whole adult life pulling my hair back in a barrette. If it is anywhere near my ears, I end up ripping hair out of my head when the phone gets caught in it.

Please don't suggest anything too complicated or high maintenance. Despite having long hair my whole life, I get seriously challenged even just to put it into a ponytail.Picture a woman with very fine, long, straight, and thin hair. Will you suggest a haircut or hairstyle for me?
If your head is shaped right, and I presume it is since stylists have encouraged it, a well cut bob can be very cute and not boyish at all. I'd love to have one, but the back of my head doesn't suit it.

That would be the easiest style to take care of (no styling, just dry and go), too. The only thing you have to be sure and do is get it trimmed up every month so it doesn't start looking funny.Picture a woman with very fine, long, straight, and thin hair. Will you suggest a haircut or hairstyle for me?
    i think that you should:

get your hair cut to your shoulders

keep your bangs but try to make them look sexier

and if your hair isnt too thin then get layers

and if all else fails, you can always get some high/lowlights

    hope this helps :)

Is there any multivatimins for hair growth? I have a thinning hair. It's embarrassing for a woman like me . Im?

    Absoultey there is!

Naturally is obviously the best way.

You need to use a hair treatment like provillus, its natural and for men and women. I've been on it for 5 weeks and i must say there is a major improvement in my part. It has all the vitamins your hair needs and much more.I've used it and I had very good results.Provillus contains the only FDA-approved topical ingredient clinically proven to re grow hair.

I am sure this product will be worth your time for a second look since your money would be going into the right hands. In a survey conducted, 18 out of 20 people experienced a drastic change after using this product. None experienced any side effects.

Provillus offers the best possible and perennial solution for this problem for both men and women. One of the best parts of the provillus treatment is that it uses natural ingredients. This has accounted for its rising popularity. Thus it leaves the other products behind in this context, since most of the products contain harmful chemicals.

Provillus basically functions by removing the main cause of hair loss i.e. DHT. DHT damages the hair follicles and is responsible for the thinning of hair. It also restricts the re-growth of new hair. Provillus prevents its formation and it also promotes the growth of the new hair.

I use it once a day every evening. The area which i was balding in was the top middle portion of my head, not sure why cause no one in my family is loosing hair accept me so its not genetic. I have regrowth in that area, few strands are coming up and my wife says its so much better than it was before.

Well you might be aware that it is available for both men and women. The saw palmetto extract is basically present in the men's version whereas a combination of acids is present in the female version. Thus in addition to the solution of problem of hair loss it also nourishes hair.

Till now Provillus has been getting positive feedbacks so you needn't worry and instead be assured. It offers the its users complete satisfaction.

If you would like more information on what a natural hair re-growth product can do for you visit:

Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the

time and it makes your hair grow faster. I;d say massage it into

your scalp b/c thats going to help the roots if you just put it on

the ends, it not going to do anything to it. You can find it at

walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water

to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should

use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it.

Even hot water hurts your hair.

Is it socally acceptable for a woman to not shave her legs if the hair on her legs is very thin?

I am a college freshman and I have never shaved my legs, so the hair on my legs is quite thin. I am afraid that if I start to shave that the hair will get thick and stubbly and I don't want that. I am a brunette so the the hair is dark but only visible up close. Is this okay that I don't shave my legs? Guys, would you refuse to date someone just because she does not shave the thin hair on her legs?Is it socally acceptable for a woman to not shave her legs if the hair on her legs is very thin?
Is it socially acceptable? no. Does that mean you shouldn't do it? I don't know, I would strongly reccomend that you DO shave your legs, or at least nair them. Because even if you can't see the hair on your legs, a guy can still feel the diffrence. Is it socally acceptable for a woman to not shave her legs if the hair on her legs is very thin?
If you don't want stubbly hair, consider getting them waxed. I think you should do whatever you want though.
You can always bleach them. Its euro.
If your afraid to shave then try a wax job. I know certain European countries where the woman don't shave. You probably won't find many guys that are into hairy legs or arm pits......You do shave your pits, right? I hope so
shaving is not the only option

you can use a cream hair remover like Nair
yes men would date women who dont shaves her legs coz I guess its not that bed if u cnat even see it that well just like moisterise them so they are shiny im pretty sure u looks good
Do whatever you want to do - don't let society run your life. But, in my personal opinion, it's kind of gross not to shave.

Short of women's Rogain, is there anything I can do for my thinning hair?

There is a product out better than Rogain. It is called Nioxin. This has a lower PH balance than Rogain. I too have thining hair and I have used Nioxin for years. Ask your Stylist to get you some and suggest the right product for you. It has shampoo's, conditioners, styling agents. Good LuckShort of women's Rogain, is there anything I can do for my thinning hair?
I feel your frustration! The things that I have learned over the years is not to pull your hair back in a ponytail. and watch the shampoos and conditioners. and most importantly Go to the Doctor and have your thyroid checked. This was my issue. I will tell you that they will advise Rogaine or spirolactone. I would go to my gynecologist first Hormonal issues can also contribute. You can also go to a great website for women

www.heralopecia.com lots of good information on everything that has to do with women's hair loss issues. I have just recently started using a new shampoo and conditioner and Thermal Fusion for the scalp. I have to say that I notice a difference in the amount of hair that I am losing, But this is a skeptical issue I know I live with it too. But that is what I use. I have plenty of samples that I use for my business and I would be more than happy to send you a free no obligation sample. I would like for you to be able to try it if you want to, I know how it feels believe me. My website is www.thewayback.myarbonne.comShort of women's Rogain, is there anything I can do for my thinning hair?
    No.
Don't wash too often or use any product that could potentially make the thinning worse. Don't brush or style too vigorously and try to eat healthy foods.
I feel for you. I'm going through the same situation right now. I'm using Nioxin products, but they usually don't regrow hair, just help keep the hair you've got. Women's Rogaine does the same from what my Dr. said. I've done a lot of research on thinning hair. It's usually genetic. If your hair loss isn't terrible, maybe one of those would help stop you from loosing any more hair. The only thing you can do for seriously thinning hair is to wear a wig or hairpiece, or opt for hair restoration ( transplant).

Is rogran for woman good with thinning hair?

It can work for women. Sometimes you grow hair where you don't want to though. I believe they have a version specifically for women. Is rogran for woman good with thinning hair?
Well, I've used Rogaine for men and it does'nt work. I'm assuming it won't work well for women either.

Is it normal for women over 40 to start losing their hair (thinning)?

I used to have such thick hair and now I lose quite a lot in the morning when I get up in the morning! Also I haven't got so much hair to put up in my pony tail..Is it normal for women over 40 to start losing their hair (thinning)?
I noticed that my hair did not grow as fast as it use too. I could get a cut, and before I knew it, it was growing out of the cut.

I have not experienced any thinning though. There are things on the market you could check into for thinning. I know Rogaine is for thinning hair.

I would perhaps consult a physician. If you are into organic or health food supplements, you could go to a store like GNC and see what they have to offer for thinning hair.

Also, go to google and type in ';thinning hair in women'; and see what it brings up and take it from there. Hopefully, you will get more info before going to the doctor.

good luckIs it normal for women over 40 to start losing their hair (thinning)?
yes unfortuantley its all part of ageing,

If you are concerned see your doctor, he may have something available to help you out
    Take (b5) panothenic acid.
Not necessarily. You don't say what you've done to your hair. If you color/perm/process it, STOP, and get some good hair vitamins and eat healthy. Hope it would help you.

Can anyone tell me what is good for hair grow for the alfro-american woman who hair is so thin.?

I'd suggest that you try a natural style that won't put strain on your hair. Perming, and colouing, or constantly braidign your hair can wear your hair thin, strip it of all it's nutrients, cause breakage, and seriously wreck your hair line.

Weaves are a good chance to give your hair some rest (your hair is braided back and then a weave is attached in layers. It's a good, manageable way to add length and leave your hair alone fo a while.

Try washing your hair every 7-8 days, and investng in something that will specialize in hair growth.

I found my hair thinning out after constantly wearing it in a pontytail and there's nothing worse than long thin hair. I bought a product called Doo Gro, specifically for thinning hair. It was only 9$ and it really hasmade an improvement to my hair. Try treating your heair before you wash it this is an ancient treatment you can make at home.

a couple spoons of mayo, one egg, and a small spoon of vinegar and a spoon of olive oil. mix it up add it to your hair, sit under a heat fan, or just put a bag ove your hair for an 1/2 hour then rinse and shampoo as usual.

good luckCan anyone tell me what is good for hair grow for the alfro-american woman who hair is so thin.?
Colloidal minerals may assist your hair growth. Can anyone tell me what is good for hair grow for the alfro-american woman who hair is so thin.?
I don't mean any disrespect...the black woman is the one that made hair extentions and weaves popular, is that not an option for you? When it's all braided, you can't tell how thick or thin it is or why not try getting it cut. I think I'd have to see a pic to really give an educated opinion, sorry.

  • How does a doctor check for women's very thinning hair?

I am a 44 year old woman and I had more than average hair. But, I have been losing a lot of it. I figured that maybe it will stop because everyone has a little hair loss. But it has continued to fall for about 3-4 years and specially in the past few months. Everytime I brush my hair I lose a lot of hair. I don't know when this is going to stop and now I only have a little bit of hair on the front and sides of my face. What type of doctor should I see? What are the methods or tests they use to determine what the cause is?How does a doctor check for women's very thinning hair?
Just a thought, I'm not a medical dr.,but maybe you should go see your family dr. and ask him to test your thyroid. Make sure and tell him your symptoms. How does a doctor check for women's very thinning hair?
First it is important to determine the type of hair loss. It sounds like it may be telogen effluvium. This type of hair loss causes excessive shedding fairly evenly from all over the scalp. This article explains and describes the types of hair loss that affect women. http://www.vzbotanicals.com/typesoffemal鈥?/a>

Medical doctors will test hormone levels, iron, ferritin. thyroid, plus more depending on any other symptoms. A trichologist will examine your scalp to try to determine the type and cause. You can find a lot of information on female hair loss here: http://vzbotanicals.com

Your diet has alllot to do with the health of your hair. make sure you are taking a complete vitamin and you may want to try the hair products called Nioxin, its for thinning hair
What you need to investigate first is the reason for it happening. You can get better help once the cause is identified. Get to a dr.
I had used that hair growing product a few times, now seeing that it did work, Not only do I have a head full of lush wonderful hair, but also on the back of my neck down towards the middle of my back! I go to the salon to get it waxed.

Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?

I'm 40, have 3 kids (9, 6, 3) and have noticed over the last 3-5 years my hair falling out and beginning to thin on top. This is extremely distressing to me and I'm worried to death about it. My thyroid is in check and I have no health problems that cause hair loss, so I don't know how to fix this problem. My ob said there's really nothing anyone, male or female, can do about thinning hair. It's just age, hormone, stress related. He said even Rogaine doesn't work or else we wouldn't still see bald men, much less women! Does anyone who has had this problem know any treatments that truly made a difference before I go spending tons of cash on a million products promising thicker hair. Mind you, I'm not bald or balding - I've just noticed a definite thinning on the crown of my head and have to carefully style my hair so that my scalp doesn't show.Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?
Applying warm coconut oil mixed with castor oil[2:1] ,left overnight and washed with herbal shampoo will help. Also try application of onion juice ,wash with mild shampoo/plain water after half an hour.Anyone know products for women that truly help thinning hair?
I went to the Dermatologist, and he did a biopsy of my head. That will find out the root problem with the hair not growing or not growing in some spots. In my case, it was determine that I had dead hair follicles that will not grow back because of years of putting perms, and hair dyes, in my hair.

Don't waste your money, like I did going to places, that promise you thick and longer hair. There are none. I can tell you I waste, over $4,000 in some Laser Treatment that did not work.

Go to your Dermatologist, he or she will get to the root of the problem for you. There maybe some oil ointment, that you need a prescription for. It did not work for me, but you never know it may work for you. Depending on the problem.

    Good Luck.
the Nioxin line of products really do help thicken up fine and thinning hair. you can get it from a salon. its really great.

You should try Nioxin. It is a salon brand of shampoo that even has three differnt stages for thinning hair. My mom uses it and swears by it. I know it is a really popular brand. They dont only make shampoo either they also have other products.

http://www.nioxin.com/en/home.aspxI see hundreds of products for men that have thinning hair, but nothing specific for women, ....?
Female hair loss, particulary that comes on very suddenly, can be the sign of a more serious illness, so you should probably consult a dermatologist. If it is just thinning hair or mild hair loss, products like Sephren or generic minoxidil are helpful for many women.
You can try Provillus they have a female specific hair loss solution. If you click thru to the website you will find the female version of this product.

What do women think of a guy who has thinning hair and opts for the clipper shave or razor shave?

I am not a women but i can talk with my own experience. For yourself, you'll always be better off being bald by choice an be proud of it than being half way bald by nature and try to hide it. As far as women are concern i haven't notice a change in my love life since i have been shaving. What do women think of a guy who has thinning hair and opts for the clipper shave or razor shave?
I definitely think thats a really good decision for any guy who is starting to have thinning hair that poses as embarrasing to them. A lot of guys can pull off this look! I hate when guys try to grow out their hair to cover up their balding spots, it never works and never looks good. What do women think of a guy who has thinning hair and opts for the clipper shave or razor shave?
i think that either a bic-ed head or a closely clipped haircut for guys with little to no hair is really attractive...

i think that if you are losing it...that stinks and im sorry BUT better to cut it super short or go bald...its hot...and if you have the confidence to pull it off...go for it!!!!!
i really like the shaved head look if is cut about like david beckham has his hair. that close. i cut my husbands hair like that he is bald on the top of his head like on the top back part . sexy.
I agree with CQ. I think it's much better looking than long hair. And PLEASE don't try the comb-over trick! No one's fooled by that. Just stand tall and don't be shy about your new head. Be proud!

Any ladies here ever tried Women's Rogaine for thinning hair?

I would love to hear success stories. I have thinning hair in front and will try anything. Anyone here ever had a hair transplant? Where does the hair come from?

Thank you so much for any help!Any ladies here ever tried Women's Rogaine for thinning hair?
I haven't tried it but i know some women who have. The product is fine, but as soon as you quit using it, the thickness goes away. However, A good product for women and men is Nioxin. They have different systems for different types of hair. I am a stylist and often recommend this to my clients. Everyone i know who uses or used it loves it. Unlike rogaine, when you quit using it, the thickness will stay,it;s your natural hair.Great product.Any ladies here ever tried Women's Rogaine for thinning hair?
    No sorry.
Yes, I use rogaine for women and it did help. I also had my hormone levels checked, and found out my testosterone levels were high due to PCOS, and this is why my hair was thinning. Basically my insulin levels were off and affecting my hormone levels. Anyway, they put me on metformin and now my hormone levels are normal, and hopefully I can quite the rogaine soon. I stopped rogaine for a while and found my hair thinned again, so I guess I wasn't ready to get off it yet, and now I'm back on it. It takes about 3 months to kick in when you first start using it.

What are th reasons for a woman's hair to fall out (not all but for the hair to thin)?

I lost a lot of hair after childbirth, and then stress but not sure why this causes hair loss?

I went to a naturopath and had a mineral analysis - after taking iron, magnesium, silica and potassium my hair has started to grow back - or may be it is because I have less stress? I'd like to know what it was so it doesn't happen again. I am stopping taking the minerals now! What are th reasons for a woman's hair to fall out (not all but for the hair to thin)?
anyway as we know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.com/?id=fc7a24

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    good luck!

Forget hairspray, get volumizing shampoo that makes the hair thicker
Vavoom. You can get it in some salons.
u need some thickening shampoo and to keep the hair in place dont use one from a department store because they are all made out of a lot of alcohol which will dry out your hair and make it brittle. another thing is dont blow dry your hair this will also cause if to dry out too much and it will also separate the hairs too much. let it air dry and comb or brush it the way u want to style it then use a little voluming moose. remember that when u use the thickening shampoo to rub your scalp thoroughly. another secret u can use is making a paste out of baking soda to strip the hair of clogs that might aid in the process. leave it on about 15min and rinse hair well with warm or hot water. do this at least 1x a month. it will strip the hair of even medication that might be the root of the problem and nicotine if u smoke.
I like the Redken Body Full brand. They have a leave in thickening treatment and a weightlifter that are wonderful and they really work. my hair is thin and after 15 years i have found a easy way to remedy this. my hair is much thicker and doesn't lay flat. the hairspray is great too. (the leave in thickening treatment is called PLUMP TREAT) WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing long, it just pulls down on your hair and you can see it better. Also, try to dye it a dark blonde/light brown. That also helps. My best friend has this same problem and I am now going to cosmetology school so I might be able to help her and other people with the same problems. I hope this helps!
id say do a short cut w/layers. it should make the hairl look fuller, or since its thinning from the top, so a cut that brings he hair from the top, to the front to cover up the middle line.....
I would try curling it. It should give you some volume.

Or maybe get hair extensions, like clip-ins, so that you can wear them only when you want to.
Shoulder length with layers and a little bit of side swept bangs. Also extensions do wonders if you can afford it.

Is there a hotter look for women than a mini-skirt on a thin girl with long hair?

    I also detest tattoes.

Question is for men and lesbians only please. Is there a hotter look for women than a mini-skirt on a thin girl with long hair?
    no

Are there any cures for thinning hair on women, serious replies please?

It could be due to a lack of progesterone.

When progesterone levels fall as a result of overian follicle

failure (lack of ovulation), the body responds by increasing

its production of the adrenal cortical steroid, androstenedione,

an alternative precursor for the production of other adrenal

cortical hormones. Androstenedione conveys some androgenic

(male-like) properties, in this case, male pattern hair loss.

When progesterone levels are raised by NATURAL progesterone cream, the androstenedione level will gradually fall, and your normal hair growth will eventually resume. Since hair growth is a slow process, it may take four to six months for the effects to become apparent.

    Seriously, get over it, moron.
my best mate lost a large patch of her hair for a few months and its just recently started to grow back. apparently it was a mild form of alopecia (literally a hair loss disease) that may well have been brought on by stress according to her doctor
They need to get it checked out by a Doctor as there may be an underlying cause.

If the Doctor can find no cause then some of the treatments other have suggested here can help. Also a good hairdresser can cut hair into a style that makes it look fuller and thicker.

Whats the best follicle booster for thinning hair in African-American women?

I've heard about Nioxin but does it work for black people's hair?Whats the best follicle booster for thinning hair in African-American women?
    As soon as I saw this question i thought the same thing as Amber Marie, and I agree with her. There is no such thing as a ';follicle booster.';

If you, like most black women, are relaxed then the relaxer could be the cause of your thinning hair. It causes constant breakage and thinning over time. If you go natural then you'll see that you still have a head of thick, beautiful, luscious hair that will grow longer and stronger without the harsh chemicals. My natural hair is thicker than my thin relaxed hair, and it's growing without breakage (yey!).

Not to go on a rage against relaxers, but I'm just stating facts - they are very damaging to African hair types because the chemicals are very strong and weaken our hair, which makes it more prone to breakage. Even if you take good care of your hair at some point years of relaxing will begin to take it's toll and the chemicals will begin to break your hair. It's no coincidence that Oprah and many other celebs go natural after they achieve fame - it's probably because they come into contact with good hairstylists who inform them of the damage relaxers are doing to their hair - if you've watched Oprah over the years then she's talked about the damage and bad relaxers and her relaxed hair was always short. She recently showed a picture of her natural hair and its THICK and mid-back length and many people thought she was wearing a straight weave, but it's her real natural hair - pressed.

If you want healthy, long hair, but still want it straight then you're better off going natural and wearing straight sew-ins or flat ironing, because the chemicals are much worse than doing those things.

    I'm just sayin!

    ********

EDIT: Glad to know that you're natural. I'd take the advice of the other posters and see a doctor and try to the bottom of it. Sometimes ill healthy can be the cause of thinning hair and hair loss. Sorry, for assuming you were relaxed, but reality is that most black women relax their hair, so it's a logical conclusion.Whats the best follicle booster for thinning hair in African-American women?
I am sorry, but that is just a scam, there is no such thing as a ';follicle booster'; Thinning hair is a biological symptom and cannot be helped by shampoo. I assume that you have seen a doctor, what did he/she advise? Hair thins for a reason, and the only thing that you can do is treat the cause.
I think Nioxen is great for thinning hair...It won't grow your hair thicker or longer but it will take good care of the hair you already have.....I do suggest to my clients that they take biotin or prenatal Vitamins along with what they use externally....biotin is crucial to keratin replacement in hair and nails.... biotin every day with a multi.. or a prenatal will really help strengthen your hair....it won't work over night give a 3 month try.......And in the mean time be kind to hair you have....nothing harsh on it.....just a lot of TLC.....
i have an african american friend, and she is beautiful. she says she uses this hair product that she bought on the internet from omaha, NE.

What kind of vitamin should a women take for thinning hair?

While there are vitamins you can take for healthy hair and to help prevent hair loss, the downside of this is that taking excessive amounts of vitamins can actually lead to hair loss. Some of the most important vitamins for hair loss are the B vitamins because they contain:

    路 Folic acid

    路 Magnesium

    路 Biotin

    路 Sulfur

    路 Zinc

    路 Inositol

Through laboratory experiments with these vitamins for hair loss, scientists have seen a decrease in thinning hair in lab animals. These results show that a diet low in magnesium cause hair loss in patches, while one low in biotin or inositol results in total baldness.

If you look at taking vitamins for hair loss, you will notice that these are vitamins essential for good health as long as you take them in moderation. Vitamin A is one of the vitamins to increase hair growth, but if you abuse it, it can also result in hairloss. Before taking any vitamins for hair loss or to increase hair growth, you should contact your doctor to find the underlying cause for the hair loss. A blood test will determine if you have a deficiency in any of the necessary vitamins.

There are other foods that also help to promote hair growth. Fatty acids, for example, while they are not vitamins for hair loss, do help to improve the texture of your hair and prevent dryness and brittle ends. Instead of taking vitamins to increase hair growth, you can make sure that your diet contains the foods in which you find the vitamins you need.

Having healthy portions of vegetables, such as beans, carrots, peas and cauliflower can go a long way to helping you keep your hair. The same thing applies to eggs, nuts and bran. These foods also help the organs of the body work the way they should.

Doctors will tell you that proper nutrition is as important for healthy hair as regular washing. You can also get shampoos and conditioners that contain vitamins for your hair, but you should not rely on these alone. Many experts recommend using a hot oil treatment once or twice a month to keep you hair healthy. These are much more affordable alternatives than taking vitamins for hair loss every day. You also know that there is no danger of taking too many vitamins to increase hair growth and having the reverse occur.

Vitamins for hairloss can be as simple as a good diet. Pay attention to what you eat. What kind of vitamin should a women take for thinning hair?

.For the modern, really awesome looking and pretty hairstyles that you see around now, use either plastic or Velcro rollers. Also, its better for your hair, the style lasts longer and you can style it in different ways. This yahoo group has tons of pictures of the latest hairstyles. • What is the best formal up style for a older women with thin shoulder length hair& how do i do it?

she is a coworker of mine that never does her hair or wear makeup but for her sons wedding she has asked my help. She has brown hair shoulder length and it is verythin. IT has not been cut in a while and she has no intrest to do so. I am looking for formal up style because her dress has open back and shoulders. As I do not do hair I would need some instructions on how to do the hair style lol please help!!What is the best formal up style for a older women with thin shoulder length hair%26amp; how do i do it?
Here's a thought. At the beauty supply stores, the drug stores, and department stores they sell hair pieces that are attached to clips.

There are different colors that can match her color, and different types like curls so she could have the look of more hair without having to spend a lot of time getting ready.

To use the clips, she would just put her own hair in a ponytail, and clip the hair piece over the ponytail. Make sure the plastic clip is hidden...it looks tacky if it is showing. What is the best formal up style for a older women with thin shoulder length hair%26amp; how do i do it?
You could pin it up, bring it together in a twist bun, or use clips. Even a hair piece like a flower on the side of your hair might do nicely. Or do what you think you might need. Just as long as it doesn't cause problems.

What is a good hair style for a women 60, fine thin hair?

Oh my goodness! DON'T choose a dark hair color... I am nearing your age and I just wouldn't ! Go short and fluffy. There might be those spray-on toners you can use on your scalp to blend in the hair. Nothing to be depressed about, we all age in different ways.. I am losing the ONE best feature I had which is my eyebrows. They are falling out and there's nothing I can do about it so we are sisters in the hair area. I had dark very defined brows too, (like Elizabeth Taylor) so it is very evident on me. I use a gray eyebrow pencil. Just go with it dear, and take heart. You aren't the only one.! Just use common sense. Don't choose a dark hair color as your scalp will be more evident. Lot's of women go through this. One more phase of life, dear. We're all there with you, more than you know. : ) !!What is a good hair style for a women 60, fine thin hair?
Well I think a bun is good, maybe a ponytail or just have it the way you think is bestWhat is a good hair style for a women 60, fine thin hair?
    short
Try a perm if your hair is in good condition. It will make it look thicker. Also a short cut. It will be easy and look really nice.
if its fine thin hair I believe its good to have a very short hair cut,,,,,and color it with a color that matches your skin color
A nice roller set curled tight with and then fluffed with a lose tooth comb.
A braided bun would be nice, or if the length of her hair's above the shoulders, she should get it permed like Jane Fonda's current hairstyle. I think that's absolutely gorgeous.

Best hairstyle for thin fine hair for a woman?

My hair fell out due to medication and now my hair looks terrible. I had it cut from past my shoulders to right above my shoulder but it looks very thin. I want something that will make it look better until the new growth comes in. HELP!Best hairstyle for thin fine hair for a woman?
Call around and ask people that have hair like yours. I pays to get referrals first so you don't end up with butchered hair.Best hairstyle for thin fine hair for a woman?
Well, you could always try volumizing products to give your hair a thickened look. When you get out of the shower, apply a Heat Protectant Spray on just-towel dried hair (like Tresemme) and some volumizing mousse at the roots and blowdry away with a roundbrush. Then get a 1-1/4 inch ceramic (least detrimental to hair) curling iron (Such as Conair Ceramic Curling Iron) and wrap 1 inch sections of hair around it and hold for 5 seconds. Before curling each section however, apply it with a curl protector and holder, such as Loreal Vive Hot Curl Spray. This stuff really makes the curls last. Then shake out the curls with my fingers and tousle them around for a sexy volumous curled look and set it with a light mist of finishing spray (Loreal Studio LineSpray)

    - If you think this is too much work then I suggest you try some extensions. If you go to a professional salon, they will actually ';sew'; in extensions throughout your hair to make it blend in with the rest of your strands, and adding more thickness throughout your hairdo. Just ask for ones that don't make your hair longer, but more thicker. Celebs like Pamela Anderson do it all the time to acheivfe that huge tousled look.

    - If you don't want to fork over the money though, I suggest maybe playing up the texture on your hair. Textured hair will always look more thicker than pin straight hair ; apply some curl-activiating serum throughout your strands, and dry it with a diffuser.

-Lastly, if this doesn't work, try using headbands or bobby pins placed strategically throughout hair to give strands a bit of a lift. High ponytails or messy buns will look cute and not give away the impression tha thair is thin.

    hope this helps!
Blow dry your hair while putting your head down so that your hair is falling towards the ground and blow dry it then when you stand up it will look fuller
Get clip in extensions to make it look fuller. Or regualr extensions.
Layers! I have baby fine hair and it's terrible. Choose a cut that has a lot of layers and use a round brush to style. Use volumizing styling products too. There's volumizing shampoo and conditioner too. Although, conditioner may be too heavy for your hair. I use mousse and a round brush myself, followed by light hairspray.
i would try getting layers and a side bang... my sister's hair is naturally thin and she got bangs and layers.... her hair looks super full! She has brown hair and when she got blonde and red highlights... i dunno, some how it made her hair look fuller.
I had a bone marrow transplant a few years ago and my hair has never been the same. It is very thin and limp now. I have found that having a layered, short cut is best for my hair. I have also found a fabulous product called ';XFusion';. It is made of natural hair fibers. It comes in different hair colors and is actual hair protein that bonds with your natural hair. You just shake it on the thin spots and distribute it through your hair with your hands. It bonds with your hair and makes it look naturally thicker. You can find this product at salons that sell ';Scruples'; products and probably at other salons as well. I hope this will work for you. It has made a world of difference in my hair and the way I feel about myself.

What is the best hair style for a woman with thin hair?

    Hi

Due to medication, I now have fine, thin hair. Right now, it's below my shoulders and all one length. I am thinking I would like to cut my hair shorter, now that it's getting thinner, but I'm afrain to - should I just keep it long?

In the past, I have made some horrible choices when I cut my hair shorter! I dont want to repeat my past!!!

I have angular features and a square shaped face. What is the best hair style for a woman with thin hair?
Depending on your hair type, a razored haircut can help to soften the lines of your cut. In the past I have found a short or medium length razor cut will add some workability to your style and can make your hair look fuller by adding volume with styling. Ask your stylist or talk to a new stylist to give you a different perspective. To get the best advice ask someone who is trained and can take your personal style and features in to considerationWhat is the best hair style for a woman with thin hair?
Never have a razored used on fine thin hair,I guarantee you will hate it. It will make your hair look even more thin and lifeless. A razor was used on my hair and all my hair was ruined.

In my opinion you should just keep it long because if you straighten it it will look quite pleseant.
Nioxin is a great product for making your hair thicker, not only the individual hairs themselves, but also it can stimulate your scalp and some of the hair you lost may actually come back in. It is sold in salons and is kind of pricey, but a wonderful product.
just keep it long and beatiful with a hair clip people usally look cute with that
    Short and Layered
The longer fine thin hair is the finer and thinner it looks. If you don't want to go to short try below the chin, with just a few layers around the face to soften the hard angles in a square face.

  • Thinning hair for women?

Has anyone come across a good product made especially for women with thinning hair?Thinning hair for women?
If you are dealing with hair that is just starting to thin or if you want to hold onto the hair you have, or many cancer patients will use it to grow hair, try Nioxin. It is natural, is not a drug, won't enter the blood stream, and it works! I've seen it do some AMAZING things for people who use it consistently. They have 8 different systems designed for your specific hair type and hair loss situation. Get it at a salon that has had education and training with the product. They'll be able to guide you and teach you how to properly use them. (Makes a difference in your results!) They also have a multi-vitamin that you can use with the product that helps with hair growth. If your body is getting the nutrients it needs on the inside, it will help tremendously with growing strong healthy hair. Make sure you get it from a salon that has had the training and education in it. That makes a BIG difference in the results you'll get because there are 8 different formulas depending on your type of situation.

Whatever you do, PLEASE don't use Rogaine. It is a drug. Years ago it was a blood pressure medication (Monoxidyl) (hope I spelled it correctly!). They discovered that one of the side effects was that people were growing hair on their bodies. So they took it off the market and re-vamped it for people who have thinning hair/baldness. It is a drug, it does enter the bloodstream and that is why when you stop using it, all the hair you did get from it, you lose once the drug is out of your blood stream. (For most people it's about 2-3 weeks)Many people experience side effects from it.

Just as important is how you take care of your hair everyday. Don't run your shampoo all the way to the ends of your hair. Just shampoo the root area, as you rinse and the suds go through your hair, it will be enough to cleanse it without stripping it. Make sure you're using a good reconstructor treatment once a week. That will ensure that you've got the proper protein/moisture balance so you're hair isn't breaking off and splitting excessively Get regular trims and use good products on your hair (like Nioxin or some other professional product of your choice)

What is the most effective treatment for thinning hair in women?

I am 48 years old, and have very thin hair on the top of scalp. I have tried a popular hair application Rogaine, and it seemed to have helped but only very very slightly. I would like to try something more effective. What is the most effective treatment for thinning hair in women?
Women rarely lose their hair due to genetic predisposition. However hair loss in women is reaching new high levels. Thinning hair loss in women may be caused by many problems:

    - Hormonal imbalance

    - Hair loss related to pregnancy postmenopausal trauma

    - Effects of medications including birth control pills

    - Nervous conditions including tension and stress

    - Medical treatments such as chemo therapy

    - Harsh chemicals such as commercial shampoos, perms, hair color, and bleach

    - Iron, vitamin and mineral imbalance

    - Severely poor diet including dehydration

    - Poor circulation can cut off the nutrients that blood flow delivers to the scalp

The average person loses about 100 strands per day (while the average hair grows only 1/2 inch per month). So the more days you live, the more hairs you lose. While you can't stop time or heredity, you can do something about the way your hair appears, even if it's thinning.

Commercial conditioners do a good job of making hair look fuller, as long as you don't overuse them. Don't use more than a teaspoonful each time you wash, that's just a dab in the palm of your hand. Anything more is wasted and can actually make your hair look worse.

Crack an egg over your hair before shampooing, and toss away the shell. Massage it in for five minutes and then rinse it out. Since egg is basically animal protein, it has the same effect as the specially formulated shampoos. What is the most effective treatment for thinning hair in women?

Yes your dr is right, stress can drop your hair. What you can do is, before every wash, rub coconut oil on the scalp, leave it on for 30 minutes and have it shampood thoroughly. Another remedy is to apply liquor like brandy or whisky on the scalp after washing to encourage new growth of hairs. My mum did that on my baby brother when he was a baby, but he was shaved bald before the application of brandy, not long after that his head sprouted bushy healthy hair. Of cos, i dont mean you need to shave your head bald, just apply the liquor regularly and hopefully it works.Good luck to you.

    Hello

I can understand what you are going through and it can seem hellish!

Have you visited a doctor to rule out a possible health problems: PCOS? Thyriod? Low iron?

If you have tried that - which I did and none of the blood tests for those came back negative.

I would suggest a trichologist. I'm based in the UK and I see someone who works for Dr Philip Kingsley (one of the leading trichologists).

It turned out that I had very low ferritin levels and now I take iron and use drops. It can take up to a year to see any growth and I am hopeful!

I hope you find a solution.

My hair used to be super-thick, and in the last five years it has thinned out so badly it has me depressed! I am 46 years old, btw. What would be a good remedy for thinning hair (for women)?
    Hello

Have you watched your diet? Is your diet iron rich? Does it have good vitamins? If not then see to it that you eat fresh cooked food everyday. Less greasy, more healthy. Have lots of iron rich food and fruits.

Apply Dabur Vatika oil or Amla oil, which you will get in some Indian store easily. If you don't get it use Almond oil or coconut oil.

After applying oil, give steam to your hair by wrapping hot towel on your head.

Wash your hair with some natural cleansing agents or herbal shampoo.

You may also apply eggs once in a week. Condition your hair with herbal conditioner like juice of half lime in lukewarm water.

Meditate everyday and calm your mind.

Exercise too. What would be a good remedy for thinning hair (for women)?
It could be related to many factors, e.g. poor diet, stress, hormonal imbalance, side-effect of medications, blood-suagr problem , and liver congestion.

I suggest try the basic things:

    a mild liver cleanse.

Drink pure water, get a complete multi vitamins/minerals, and take flaxseed oil/day.
I use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner because my hair started thinning a couple years ago from thyroid conditions. It has helped thicken my hair. You can buy it at salons and at beauty supply stores.
You just need an instant vitamin fix. Take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2 x day or whenever you are hungry. Hair will grow back almost immediately. Give it one month. Has 93 vitamins and minerals. Great for dieters or if you have adult acne. Read the apple cider vinegar website. It has cured my depression. My nails have grown super long too.
Hair falls due to genetic reasons, stress, pollution, thyroid imbalance, chemicals in hair styling products and lack of proper nutrition. You can stop hair loss using many cheap and effective home remedies.Egg white, lemon juice, oil massage are other home remedies at http://hairthinning.org/ will prevent further problems
I would check with your Doctor. I would also go to local health food store %26amp; ask.
Rogaine for women is the best thing ive heard about.
Honey is a remedy used world-wide for many ailments! You can use it on your hair, too:

Apply a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder before bath and keep it on for approx. 15 min. and then wash your hair.

Essential oils are also useful for hair. Get pure rosemary oil and apply it generously. This MUST be high quality (not cheaply made) or it can damage your hair.
Wash your hair with yogurt, at least once a week. Ginger is also recommended for hair growth.

What is the best product for thinning hair for women that won't make you grow a mustache?

    Rogaine
